Car key programming involves syncing a new or existing key to your vehicle’s system. Modern vehicles are equipped with transponder keys or smart key fobs, which need to be programmed to start the engine and control other functions like locking and unlocking the doors. Without proper programming, the key won’t be recognised by your vehicle and won’t be able to work. Our Car Key Programming Process

1. First assessment: When you contact us, we will ask for details about your vehicle, as well as any specific issues you’re experiencing with your key. We’ll let you know if we have your specific key in stock, or if we need to order it in from our supplier.
2. Auto locksmith dispatch: One of our auto locksmiths will arrive at your location as soon as possible. Our vans are fully equipped with all the specialist tools and technology needed for car key programming. So, we can perform the car key programming on-site.
3. Key cutting: We’ll find out your key code and use it to cut a key blade (emergency blade for smart key fobs) using our machines. This code is important, as it means your key will work perfectly in your locks and ignition.
4. Programming the key: Programming involves connecting to your vehicle’s system and entering a new key to it. Our equipment allows us to work with a wide variety of vehicle makes and models. The time it takes to program a key varies, from 10 minutes to half an hour, depending on your vehicle.
5. Testing: After the programming process is completed, we’ll thoroughly test the key’s ability to start the vehicle, lock and unlock the doors, and control any other programmed features.
